1st annual Paint & Skate Event
Community Unites for Revitalization Project at Hopkinsville Skate Park
HOPKINSVILLE, KY – A large crowd gathered at the Hopkinsville Skate Park for the Paint and Skate event, hosted by Dad’s House Inc., in partnership with the Christian County Military Affairs Committee and Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation. The event invited youth and community members to help paint a mural aimed at revitalizing the park and providing a creative outlet for local youth.
“This event is about giving back and inspiring kids through art,” said Isaiah Pride, founder of Dad’s House Inc., which focuses on youth development and business incubation through trades like concrete restoration. Paint for the project was provided by Wicked Kolors.
The mural project is just the first phase of a larger plan to rejuvenate the skate park and host similar events annually. Community leaders, including Mayor James R. Knight Jr., praised the event for bringing together local residents and fostering community pride.
Pride, an artist himself, emphasized the importance of art as a constructive outlet. “Kids from tough backgrounds aren’t bad—they just need support and a place to belong,” he said.
